So I decided to take the plunge and buy a 360 Kinect system. I have been an avid gamer but since our company has been so busy, I hardly have any time for leisure pleasures. At first I was pretty skeptical about how well the motion sensor would track my movements but to my surprise it was PRETTY DARN ACCURATE!

I popped in Dance Central and started my awkward dance motions to popular pop songs. After about 5 songs, I realized that almost 30 minutes have ZOOMED by and I had a good amount of sweat going. Kinect Dance Central is a pretty good source of exercise for people who really can’t get themselves into the gym.

Of course, it does not compare equally to working with a trainer from OC Life Fitness, but if you like dancing and pop music, I suggest you give Kinect with Dance Central a try!

How many people can honestly say they eat enough fruits and vegetables(F&V) per day? Even as a trainer, I have a hard time with getting the daily recommended intake of F&V per day.

I take something called Juice Plus+ and although it only has been 1 week, I already am feeling the positive effects of it! Being in the health industry for so long, I was very skeptical about the product as I thought it was just another vitamin supplement.

I work 10 hours a day and my job requires me to be energetic for the time. Before, I had to rely on energy drinks and unhealthy sources to give me that boost but after taking Juice Plus+ and getting the F&V I require, my energy levels have increased naturally.

I say “don’t knock it till you try it!” My relative had a high blood pressure of 220 and was at risk of heart problems. The doctor recommended him and his wife to start taking Juice Plus+. After 6 months of taking Juice Plus+, his BP went down to 180. Of course, there were diet adjustments involved with his increased health but the fact that his new diet consisted of F&V allowed him to become healthier, quicker.

Whether it is computer games or the Internet, kids are not exercising as much as usual…

Kids growing up should be ACTIVE. Whether they are influenced to join a sports team or take up an after school program, being involved in physical activity allows kids to grow mentally and physically.

If you want your child to start working with a trainer, make sure they do more fun exercises such as ball drills, jump ropes, and sprints rather than the traditional dumbbell/barbell workout. Kids need exercises that are fun yet effective and a fun workout will always keep them interested and motivated!

Bon Appetit!
Most “men” like myself only know to use OLIVE OIL to add to their meal somewhere- dressing, cooking, and baking. I recently found out how olive oil can be use in other ways!
Couple days ago, I found out that OLIVE OIL can be used as a DEEP MOISTURIZER for your skin, nails, and hair. Olive oil is antioxidants (vitamin E) that helps to fight free radicals that damage the skin. Therefore, I think that’s why many women use products that contains olive oil or at least they should now. PLUS, it’s NATURAL- no harsh chemical. Olive oil can be very beneficial for people who are at risk of cardiovascular disease, asthma, arteriosclerosis, constipation, diabetes, stomach problems, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis
Here are some nutrition facts IF and WHEN you use olive oil in your food:
A cup of olive oil (216g) = 1909.4cal (216g of fat) = 29.16g saturated fat, 18.14polyunsaturated fat & 159.19g monounsaturated fat
BOTH polyunsaturated fat and monounsaturated fat are good for your body since it helps eliminate your body fat
It contains NO cholesterol, potassiam, carbohydrate, protein and hardly ANY sodium
Like I mentioned earlier, it contains A LOT of vitamin E and some Iron.

Considering it is a complete protein, your body will absorb it more readily than other sources such as whey or red meat.

For a healthy body, increase your intake of eggs to 2-3 per day.

In addition to my daily fitness, I decided to try something new: YOGA. My daily workouts help my body build muscle but my flexiblity has always been terrible. Before today’s class, I always assumed Yoga was more of a “Girly” fitness program. I was humbled by the difficulty of the class and gained a new respect for women and MEN who do yoga.

Due to my hectic work schedule, my personal fitness has taken a backseat to my business. I DECIDED ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! Now my diet is back to strictly lean proteins and low carbs and the addition of yoga can’t hurt either!

Tomorrow, I will post my current picture and in 4 weeks I will post my transformed image! I can’t wait!!

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 6, 2009 — The Second Annual Best and Worst Celebrity Diet List of 2008 today named the celebrities who are the best and worst role models for healthy eating and sustainable weight loss. The list is presented by Marc Lawrence, M.D., who reviews celebrity diets and celebrity weight loss at celebritydietdoctor.com

“This year the buzz around Hollywood is that ‘diets don’t work’,” said Dr Marc. “Lifestyle behaviors, frequently the difference between successful weight loss and a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, are responsible for some of Hollywood’s blockbuster slim downs and flops.”

Best Celebrity Diets for 2008:
5. Jennifer Love Hewitt: Those unflattering bikini photos seem so long ago as this Ghost Whisperer star has been letting her body speak loud and clear; daily fruits and veggies do a body good.
4. Jessica Alba: Jessica exercised her superhero abilities on a regimen of whole foods, cardio and interval training to power her fantastic 25 pound post-pregnancy slim down.
3. Debra Messing: Eating gracefully, Debra lost 42 pounds of her post-baby weight by sticking to a diet high in unprocessed veggies, fruits and lean protein.
2. Kelly Osbourne: By fixing her refined carb cravings with her new addiction to veggies and fruits, Kelly Osbourne is reborn with a healthy new figure.
1. Britney Spears: Since ditching her “Toxic” junk food diet for veggies and lean protein, Britney is sporting a new outlook and an A-list slim down that has everyone wanting “A Piece of Me.”

And the Worst Celebrity Diets for 2008:
5. Carnie Wilson: Carnie proves that even gastric bypass is not a fix for sabotaging behaviors. Despite her much publicized surgery and weight loss, this Celebrity Fit Club participant regained 58 pounds. (Her yo-yo dieting continues; she most recently lost 50 pounds before her current pregnancy.)
4. Monica Seles: This former tennis star may have lost 33 pounds on a high protein diet but she also increased her risk of chronic disease. Advantage: heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis.
3. Hilary Swank: 47 ways to sub-optimal health. Reportedly downing 47 “million dollar” supplements a day, this Million Dollar Baby star is unwittingly subjecting her body to accelerated aging.
2. Kim Kardashian: Kim has kept her shapely “junk in the trunk” figure with exercise and a gig on Dancing with The Stars. However, her junk food diet will inevitably cause… too much junk.
1. Oprah Winfrey: The queen of media and yo-yo dieter is the poster child for “diets don’t work.” Proper weight loss behaviors and habits should be one of Oprah’s “favorite things.”

About Dr Marc: Marc Lawrence, M.D., is a Stanford and Harvard trained, board-certified Physician Nutrition Specialist and diet doctor, who reviews celebrity diets and celebrity weight loss at celebritydietdoctor.com
